Luke 12:32 “Do not be afraid, little flock, because your Father has chosen to give you the kingdom.”
We are the flock, and Jesus is our shepherd. His admonition is to not be afraid, for it is His responsibility to take care of the flock. To feed, water, protect, watch over and deliver us safely to our destination. He is our Great Shepherd. That destination He leads us to is the Kingdom, which the Father Himself is pleased to give us access to.
Jesus is not pleading with the Father, “Please let them in.” No, it was the Father who sent Jesus to build and open a way for us to enter. It is as much the Father’s desire as it is Jesus’ to have us with Him. It was His purpose and He has great pleasure in giving us the kingdom.
Do not think of God as grudging! It is our Father’s good pleasure to give. Nothing delights Him more than to be able to “give good things to those who ask Him.” Just as it is with us it is for Him also “it is more blessed to give than to receive.”
