Isa. 30:18a “Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you.”

The desire to be gracious to us and to show us mercy, kindness, compassion, etc. has always been part of the heart of God. He is only waiting for us to come to the end of ourselves and own efforts. He is waiting for us to come to Him. We are to draw near to Him so He will draw near to us.

The Lord is waiting for us to come to the end of ourselves. Instead of relying on our own strengths and reasonings, He desires us to rely on His abilities which far exceed and outshine everything and everyone else. It is for this willingness to submit to Him and do things His way that He waits for.

He says that if “My people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place.” 2 Chr 7:14-15

But this is also a personal thing. It is for you not someone else on your behalf, that He waits for. He longs to hear from you.
