The roaring lion is an iconic image. But what is a lion saying when it is voicing its cry? We don’t know but there are scriptures which say the animals cry out to God for their food and He provides for them in due season. Though we don’t know for sure we can image.

Psa. 104:27-28 “They all wait for You to give them their food in due season. You give to them, they gather it up; You open Your hand, they are satisfied with good.”

Psa. 147:9 “He gives to the beast its food, and to the young ravens which cry.”

Perhaps the Lion will be one of the beasts of the field which will be tasked with helping kill one fourth of the earth’s population as spoken of in Rev. 6:8. It has the equipment to do so and the opportunity when people see them in the wilds of Africa. It would be appropriate for it to call men to repentance before the lions gets down to it gruesome business.
