Repent - Hippo

Hippo:

Hippos are said to be one of the most dangerous animals in the world. They are responsible for more people’s death than any other animal. They are short tempered and easily riled up. An animal to be respected and avoided. Fortunately, most people will never get close to any except perhaps at a zoo where they are well protected from the hippo.

Yet even the hippo is one of God’s creations. And God provides for it as He does for all of His creation. There are scriptures which say the animals cry out to God for their food and He provides for them as they need.

Job 38:41 "Who prepares for the raven its nourishment when its young cry to God and wander about without food?"

Psa. 148:10-13 “Animals and all cattle; Crawling things and winged fowl; Kings of the earth and all peoples; Rulers and all judges of the earth; Both young men and virgins; Old men and children. They are to praise the name of the LORD, For His name alone is exalted; His majesty is above earth and heaven.”

Psa. 150:6 “Everything that has breath shall praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!”

Perhaps the hippo will be one of the beasts of the field which will be tasked with helping kill one fourth of the earth’s population as spoken of in Rev. 6:8. It already has a nasty temperament and ready to destroy any would crosses its path. It would be appropriate for it to call men to repentance before it gets down to the hippo gruesome business.
