Purpose:

The Greek word for purpose is prothesis; pronounced “proth-es-is.”

Do you ever have days when you feel you lack purpose? Lots of us do, it not so uncommon. It happens when we discover we are not heading in the direction we had once hoped we would. Sometimes we get into a rut of just surviving day to day with nothing really to look forward to except the same old stuff, day after day, year after year.

But it doesn’t have to be like that. I’ve often heard it said that as long as you have breath in your lungs and a beat in your heart God has a plan and a purpose for you. He says so Himself.

Jer. 29:11 “For I know the plans that I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Having a future and a hope is the same as having purpose. But it is God who is the source of that purpose. And we can ask Him for what He has already promised. He doesn’t want us to go through life aimless and without direction.

There is nothing keeping you from asking Him for that direction. He already has it for you. You just have to ask. Make it a daily habit to ask for the direction He has for you. If you wearing this hoodie and someone asks you what it means, you have an answer to give them.

There is no one on this earth who God does not have purpose for, if only they would ask Him. God wants to give them direction and purpose just as wants to give it to you. You can ask God to give them purpose and direction.
